Product Description

Times Gone By crocheted tea cosies, by Moodie, Vicki (Australian)

In times gone by we would toss a few teaspoons of loose tea leaves (1 for each person and 1 for the pot) into the battered old tea pot, whack in some boiling water off the wood fired stove and bung on the tea cosy to keep it all warm while we roused the kids out of bed. Nowadays you toss a tea bag on a string into a cup, whack in some boiling water out of the electric kettle and scream at the kids to get out of bed!!

While we can't help with the wood stove and loose tea leaves, we have provided you with 5 crochet patterns to create some interesting tea cosies so you can regain some of the nostalgia into your morning routine. BK56 is the 5th book in our crocheted and knitted tea cosy series, the others being BK09 Keep it Cosy and BK44 (A4) Inspirational Tea Cosies (both knit and crochet) with all crochet books BK32 Showtime Tea Cosies and BK54 (A4) Love That Tea Cosy.

All of the patterns in this book are in 3 sizes (2, 4 and 6 cup) 2 are complete with liners while the others are thick enough not to require a liner.  Four are worked in 8ply yarn while the Crinoline Doll Cosy uses 4ply cotton with either a porcelain or plastic half doll to bring some elegance to the table. The rows of petals on the Petal Cosy are topped with flowers and leaves while the No Seams Cosy, as the name implies, is completed as one piece, including the liner, and the bright colourful triangles pattern make a real statement. The Chain Cosy is refreshingly different having thick chain links attached over a latticework. These 4 patterns are from our individual crochet patterns range.

The final pattern is a Two Tone Bavarian Cosy with an interesting body design with ridges radiating from the top into the diamond shaped pattern. The 6 cup size is considered big enough to fit an 8 cup pot.

All patterns use British crochet terminology.

This book is presented in A4 (210 x 297mm) format, with 120gsm quality gloss paper throughout to enhance the colour images.

 Soft cover, 210 x 297mm, 20 pages, colour illustrations.
